Start: Pineta di San Costanzo rest area
End: Monte San Costanzo
Route: Paved and unpaved path, stairs
Lenght: 2,5Km
Elevation gain: +/-100m
Difficulty: E (Hiking)
Time: 1 to 2 h
The walk we are proposing is not one of the easiest, but it is certainly one of the most popular with families who have already had this experience with their children, because along the way there are not only moments of aggregation and sharing that strengthen the bonds between the participants, but we are able to appreciate all the beauty of the nature that surrounds us. Along the trail, we will find a mixed track: asphalt, stones and roots, for which we always recommend adequate equipment, and in this regard we suggest a detailed list of recommended equipment following the hike description.
This is a very scenic, short but intense excursion.
The route is a ring around Monte Santa Croce, where the first stretch is asphalted, then the path begins and immediately a breathtaking view of Capri and Massa Lubrense opens up before your eyes. The walk continues until you reach the furthest point of the Sorrento Peninsula, until you reach another vantage point where you can see the uncontaminated and stunning Baia di Ieranto.
At this point of the route there are two options to choose from:
Option 1: return along the same route just described (easier)
Option 2: if the group is well-trained and does not suffer from vertigo, you can continue along the ring-route and reach the Pineta di San Costanzo (more demanding)
It must be said that in both cases you will always arrive at the Pineta di San Costanzo, so don't worry, because the hike continues to the top of Monte San Costanto to arrive at its characteristic little church.
At this point of the walk we usually stop to allow ourselves time to enjoy the breathtaking view! We will be surrounded by the Amalfi Coast, the Isola dei Galli, the Monti Lattari chain, the Sorrentine Peninsula, the islands, in short, a 360-degree panorama, an immersive experience that repays our efforts, I guarantee it! We can take advantage of this relaxing moment for a snack or to check that our little hikers don't need anything....
Regenerated by the panorama and the snack, we set off again, descending towards the pine forest with destination: Pineta di San Costanzo rest area (starting point).
